Throwing the Mac out the Window (Get it)...

I am officially two weeks into being back to work after 1.5 years of being home BC...BC (you know Before Covid, not Before Christ) and what I miss the most is the access to my work computer to do fun things like my blog. Currently working on my son's MacBook and the picture to the left is accurate representation of me using it...hahaha! Me calling my daughter who is upstairs in the same house as I am:

Me: "Can you come down and help me find the side scroll bar?"

Kennedy: "No, I showed you last time!"

Me: "But I can't get it to work!"

Kennedy: "No! Figure it out!"

Currently setting up a Gofundme page for a new "non Mac computer" and also looking for a new home for my daughter. Hahaha. Anyways welcome back to my deep thoughts and craziness! I'm so incredibly glad to have you along! Let's get started...ugh, now where is that side scroll bar again...Kennedy!!!!

Mirror, Mirror

Self confidence, it’s a fickle trait. There is a fine line between having too much and not enough. Very few of us fall into the “just right” category. It takes years of building up and if you are similar to me, the slightest action will have you flailing to the ground of

self doubt. It’s always a three steps forward, two steps back and sadly sometimes six steps forward, eight steps back.

Every human brought to this Universe is a gift, what we hold is unique to us. The gifts we hold were not meant to be unlocked by just ourselves. The humans we surround ourselves with, the experiences, the heartbreaks, the gains, the losses all help us unravel the greatness within us. I will be the first to admit that I am not overly confident and often times forget what it is that sets me apart from everyone else. I forget that I am special.

It’s incredibly disheartening watching a loved one lose their shine, to have them think that they are not enough and first hand, it’s just as heartbreaking feeling it yourself. I’ve really been working on this! Some days I knock it out of the park and some days I’m crying in the gym office…hahaha…it happens to the best of us…she says as she rolls her eyes.

What’s the magic formula to getting it right all of the time? I have no idea, but what I have learned is it’s a messy process, that requires an amazing tribe behind you. Some of those tribe members will make you question your uniqueness, some will constantly point out all the characteristics that make you great, some will just sit back and watch you find it on your own; all equally important. It’s an incredible feeling to look at yourself and see all the amazing you hold! To walk into a room and know you are enough. To not care what others might think! To feel good about who you are and know that the people you surround yourself with would not be the same if you weren’t there. You are magical!! You make those around you shine a little brighter, smile a little bigger and make life a whole lot better.

I challenge you to write something about yourself and repeat it every day until you believe it. And then keep going until you see all that you hold. I also challenge you on those days where you don’t feel enough, lean on those around you. Be vulnerable, cry your eyes out if you have to and let them remind you of all that you are. I promise that laugh you think is annoying, is music to someone’s heart. That snap you weren’t going to send, just made someone laugh out loud. That heart you think is too much, someone can’t get enough of. And you, my beautiful reader, just by being you, someone decided not to give up.

I will guarantee that someone out there right now is wishing for you to come along. What an unbelievable thought that because of you, someone’s life feels complete. Our mirrors sometimes lie, the thoughts we have often distorts reality, but the truth is, you matter! What you hold is important and makes a difference. Every day your presence isn’t just needed and wanted, it’s a gift we all can’t wait to receive.

Rainbow Treasures

For those of you that remember my old blog I talked about everything from books to my favorite recipes...I am bringing that back! This section will be deemed "Rainbow Treasures" and it will showcase those things that have added a little "gold"...if you will..to my days.

Ear Candy

I LOVE music!!!! If you ever want to make me happy, send me a song! It's also pretty great when they have some deep words! Patrick Droney "Talk About That" . has some great thinking points and I really enjoy his voice! "Yeah, I need you like you need me"...take a listen, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Can't Get Enough

OMGGGGGawwwddd! Most of you aren't my Snap friend, so you don't know how crazy I have become over these two, but this has been my newest obsession! This podcast has been a saving grace for me and thankfully there are about a million episodes I have yet to hear! I literally laugh out loud until I cried and have actually cried both in front of my tv and at my work desk. I have officially become that person who watches podcasts, something I never thought that I would do! Thanks TiK Tok for this newest 'Can't Get Enough'. If you enjoy my humor and like to hear also about serious matters, trust me, these two are for you! I promise this won't be the last you see of them on my blog and I think I just moved them onto my bucket list of people I would love to have a conversation with someday! Seriously, can we be bestfriends?!?!

Pay it Forward

I have some pretty amazing friends and one of them is doing a Golf fundraiser to help out local organizations! Kieran's organization is the Iowa County Humane Society, one of my very favorite places! Please click on the picture below or link above and give what you can, any amount of money helps! Last year they raised $13,000 dollars, let's help them beat that amount this year!!! Thank you Kieran and crew for all that you do!

Rainbow Chaser

It's incredibly hard to be human. Every day is a constant battle of good and bad. Some days we can barely keep our head above water and some days it feels like we are walking on it. I think one of my biggest lessons in life is that we don't have to do this alone! We are given humans to make this ride a little easier. Granted, some make it a little more challenging, but oh my goodness, the human heart is one of the most fantastic gifts one could ever receive. I look around at all of the humans I had the pleasure of knowing and have been blessed with and I can't help but think to myself..."what a wonderful world"..sang in my best Louis Armstrong voice. Go pass the beautiful gift of you onto all of those you meet and watch the world around you become magical!

Disclaimer: I'd proof read, but I can't find the side scroll bar again...prayers up no mistakes...hahaha!!

Be Kind. Be Love. Be You.
